With my knowledge, it is okay to travel to Germany via other Schengen countries for max. 4 or 5 days (I forget sorry) before entering Germany. ==> I am 100% sure that you can get though Austrian immigration

However, in order to travel to other countries other than Germany, you need to have Residence Permit first.

I don't think that I can get resident permit done within ten days. (plus weekends)
So, my option would be that I need to get a tourism schengen visa from Italy? Since my German visa stated 'MULT' anyway which supposed to mean that I'm able to get in and out of Germany as many time as I wish before I change it to resident permit? ^^

Since April 5, 2010 the type D national visa also allows travel to other Schengen countries for up to 90 days within 6 months, the same as a residence permit.

http://europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAction.do?reference=MEMO/10/111&format=HT%20ML&aged=0&language=EN&guiLanguage=en

Third-country nationals holding a long-stay visa issued by a Member State are allowed to move freely in the territory of Member States under the same conditions as the holder of a residence permit.

The Visa Code will abolish the "D+C" visa (i.e. a long stay visa allowing the holder to circulate in the territory of Member States the first 3 months of his stay on the basis of the national long stay visa).

Because of the abolishment of the D+C visa a new Regulation amending the Convention Implementing the Schengen Agreement and Regulation (EC) No 562/2006 as regards movement of persons with a long-stay visa has been drawn up and is to apply at the same date as the Visa Code.

The Regulation will allow third-country nationals holding a long-stay "D" visa issued by a Member State to move freely in the territory of Member States for 90 days in any 180-day period, under the same conditions as the holder of a residence permit.

This will put an end to the difficulties third-country nationals had to face when legally staying in a Member State on the basis of a D visa and would restore the basic philosophy underlying the area without internal borders, i.e. that a person can travel within that area for short stays with the document on the basis of which he or she is legally present in a Member State.

3. Third-country nationals with a national residence permit issued by a Schengen country may, for the duration of its validity, travel for up to 90 days per six-month period to any other Schengen country. This also applies to holders of a national visa (category “D” visa) issued by a Schengen country.

As a result of Regulation 265/2010 it is now possible for anyone in possession of a national visa (D visa) and a valid travel document to move freely in the Schengen area up to three months in any six- month period.
